It is 31kms at Southeast of Siem Reap town. Kompong Phluk cover 12 329ha which include mangrove forest 6 000ha and over 4 000ha are meadow and lake surface. The population is 3686 people who united in 849 families. Their occupation are vary from fishing, boat building, fishing worker, producing fishing tools, goods seller, farmers(only in dry season) and recently they have another new job as tourist boat driver or rower.

The view in rainy season is different from dry season, when water reach at top level we see lined houses, lush mangrove and widely limpid water, while in dry season we see high stilted houses. We can visit Kompong Phluk year round but the best time to visit is from September till December.
