Phnom Kulen National Park

Phnom Kulen National Park is in Khnorng Phnom Commune, Svay Leur District, Siem Reap Province. It is 56kms away from town to the waterfall on the top of the mountain. We can go there by car, van and motor bike and be sure that we need to get there by 11:00AM because it is one way traffic, from early morning till 10:30AM is going-up-turn and then back-down-turn. Along the way we will see lush plants and farm land of farmers.

The park is enchanting of its sacred historical sites and beautiful ecology. During the reign of King Jayavarman II it was a big city which is called Hahendraparvata. The king initiate the Devaraja cult to nominate himself as a god king on the top of the mountain. He built some temple and shrine in the entire city.


Sacred historical sites are Great Reclining Buddha statue, 1000 Linga-rock-carving at river bottom, Domrei Krab temple, Rong Chen temple, Ou Phaong temple…, Peung Tbal and Srah Domrei (10kms from waterfall).


Attractive ecological site are Waterfall, Bat Cave, and wildlife sanctuary at ACCB (Angkor Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity).    

Here on Kulen Mountain National Park we can explore the ancient temples, see beautiful sight, have picnic, swimming in the river at upper and lower waterfall, relax and play around as the top of the mountain is widely flat. So, if you want to forget your sorrow and release your stress, just come to visit Kulen Mountain National Park.
